The illusion of space can also be emplyed when working with transparency. An illusion of space is accomplished when the value of the overlapped area is close to the value of the overlapping hue. The closer these values become, the greater the spatial illusion. Transparency is also most convincing when the light source comes as if from behind the imagery. The artist can accomplish transparency effects in one or more of three ways:

- Changing the color to impart the desired effec

producing the desired effect by optical mixing

Layering or glazing
