Madame Cezanne at The Met in NY
A new exhibition has opened at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and I can’t wait to see it!
Called Madame Cezanne, it features twenty four of the twenty nine known portraits by Paul Cezanne of Hortense Fiquet. She was his lover for many years and bore him a son before they were married. He left her later in life to move back home to his mother and sisters. But she was above all his muse, and most painted model. The paintings, drawings and watercolours in the exhibition cover a period of over twenty years of his career.
And don’t forget, the wonderful exhibition of Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs has transferred from London and is on at MOMA in NY until February 8.
