Interior design tip: Pair your Ligne Roset Togo sofa vith our contemporary rugs

It’s difficult to find a comfortable sofa with modern looks, clean lines and that is available in the fabric choices you want. We realised this when furnishing our showroom where we have created our own living room to share with you all.

Having done an exhaustive survey of what’s available, we turned to classic designs that have stood the test of time and work in contemporary interiors. Our favourite is Togo sofa by Ligne Roset, designed by Michel Ducaroy.

The history of Ligne Roset’s Togo Sofa

Since he first started working with Ligne Roset in 1954, Michel Ducaroy’s designs have been amongst their most popular lines and continue to be so to this day. He created the Adria – the first modular all-foam chairs, and then followed this with the Kashima and Safi sofas, all of them featuring large comfortable cushions.

In 1973 Michael designed the Togo sofa, which now almost 50 years later remains the Ligne Roset bestseller, and had acquired cult status with interior designers.

The innovative production techniques used in Jean Roset’s and Michel Ducaroy’s Togo design using foams, quilting and thermoformed plastics, revolutionised Ligne Roset and in our opinion has not been superseded with anything that is more comfortable or more aesthetically pleasing.

Pairing our contemporary rugs with the Ligne Roset Togo sofa

Our luxury rugs are designed with the same contemporary design vision as the Togo sofa: Classic, iconic and contemporary design that is timeless. The clean colour blocked shapes in our rugs give a real transformational impact – they are design statements that contribute to creating a unique interior.

You will find that using our rugs creates a home that feels personal and uplifting and your rug choice will enhance your room and reflect your style.

Combined with Ligne Roset’s sofas, our contemporary rugs create a cosy seating area, perfect for when you want to divide an open-plan room into separate sections. The modular design of the Togo introduces limitless customisation possibilities.

Once you’ve chosen the colour and configuration of your sofa choose an area rug, armchair and coffee table to unify the space.

The dense pile of our large rugs will soften the clatter of background noise by absorbing sound, so you have a tranquil space to lean back against the comfy foam sofa cushions and relax. For several smaller seating nooks, use a few rugs in a variety of designs to inject diversity and interest.

Modern spaces are full of smooth, polished and mirrored surfaces and very little fibre and texture. Our rug’s soft wool and Togo’s soft, inviting crinkled fabric adds much-needed texture and variety into Contemporary Interiors with their organic, fluid shapes.

Togo Sofa by Ligne Roset Sofa Colours

Colour is a transformational element within a space so carefully consider your primary colour palette and the impact of adding a large highlight such as a sofa or rug to your interior. Togo’s quilted covers come in a range of rich solid colours which our rugs, especially our multicoloured rugs collection, can match to create a wonderful uplifting interior.
